SENTOSA

The area selected for the construction of Fort Siloso was at the western point of Blakang Mati. Lt. H.E. McCallum, Royal Engineers and a workforce comprising of local people began preparing the site for Fort Siloso in 1874. British, in the days of Queen Victoria, came to Singapore to take advantage of its strategic location to enhance their trade with China. This location would give the new fort a commanding position at the western entrance to Keppel Harbour. The western approach to the harbour is said to had been 'discovered' in 1848 by Admiral Sir Henry Keppel sailing in HMS Meander. There is, however, extremely good evidence that this entrance was known of by the seamen of the east for a significant period of time before Admiral Keppel came on the scene.

1.Passion For Learning means that you love learning.
2.It is necessary to have a passion for learning because if you don't have a passion to learn you cant learn anything.
4.You show ur passion for learning by asking questions if you do not know the answer(that is one example).
5.I have a passion for learning because if i don't have a passion to learn i will not learn anything.
6.I can read more books when i am free to develop my passion for learning.

1.The purpose of setting targets is to improve your studies.
2.I think it is useful because you can set higher targets once you achieve your previous one and get more marks in exams.
3.I set reasonable targets for myself and study harder to achieve it.
4.I am studying long hours every day to help myself achieve my target.
5.My parents are helping me by revising my homework with me.
6.My school teachers can help me achieve my target by teaching me more things.
